About me...
I'm a writer, editor and native Michigander currently based in southeast Maine. I've worked for newspapers and consumer magazines since 2003, in addition to having been an assistant editor at Traverse, Northern Michigan's Magazine in 2007 and 2008.
My writing roots are in journalism, with a particular focus on narrative features, travel writing and service writing. I also occasionally produce features for public radio.
In recent years, I've taken on editing and communications writing—newsletters, press releases, website content, etc.—for non-profits, businesses and individuals. I love this work: It provides a nice balance to my feature writing, and it allows my inner word nerd to shine.
When I'm not hunched over my computer or a stack of proofs? I blog a little and bake a lot; I hike, bike and play outdoors whenever I can; I enjoy as much of Maine's incredible food scene as my wallet (and waistline) will permit; and I honor my Detroit roots by avidly following the Red Wings in season.
