Editor for hire!

Clean copy is paramount when publishing anything from a book to a business card. I take pride in my editing work, because good editing goes beyond spellcheck—it's as much about style and clarity as it is about the correct use of, say, a semicolon, or "there" versus "their."

Before turning to freelance, I worked full-time as an assistant editor at a regional monthly magazine. As a freelancer, I continue to edit and fact-check for consumer publications, while maintaining a range of clients with diverse projects: everything from a music instruction manual for a mandolin teacher to website copy for a burgeoning international business.

Here's what some nice folks have said about my editing work:

"In my world of high-level business consulting, it's essential that the work my company produces and publishes looks great and reads right. Accuracy, forthrightness and expediency are key. As my copy editor/proofreader, Emily Bingham goes beyond these criteria. She makes me look smart! What else could you possibly ask for?" -- Bill Palladino, owner/principal consultant, Krios Consulting

"Emily's eye for detail, along with a keen ability to multitask, edit and write thoughtful pieces, has tremendously helped our business further develop communication with our customer base." -- Chris Treter, owner/founder, Higher Grounds Trading Co.

"Emily Bingham is a smart, detail-oriented editor who is always a delight to work with. She has always impressed me with her lexicon and sense of language, which has grace, economy and insight. Fine craftsmanship." -- Jeff Smith, editor, Traverse, Northern Michigan's Magazine and MyNorth.com
